David Dortort Cameo Exhibit
Autry Museum of the American West

Los Angeles, California

To visually tell the story of the man who created
some of America’s most beloved TV Westerns,
we used iconography from the days of early
television including color bars, and rgb dot
patterns. For our color palette, we desaturated
the traditional R(red)G(green)B(blue) to a version
more evocative of Bonanza’s look and feel.

Kids + Art

At a local K-8 school, I was part of a volunteer
committee that worked to enhance students’
access to arts education & cultural enrichments,
when public funds were cut for such learning.
As volunteer field trips coordinator, I co-created
a program for over 400 students. By reaching
out to local museums and cultural institutions,
we gained access to free field trips and brought
programs on-campus. This made it possible for
kids to benefit from the vast offerings of LA.
As a volunteer art teacher, I worked with grades
1 thru 4 teachers to bring art & design projects
supporting visual & core curriculum into the
classroom. Explore Student Art Projects here:
